Five Photos. Five Stories. Day 3
Thank you Calen at Impromptu Promptlings for nominating me for this fun challenge. For anyone who hasn’t seen Calen’s lovely inspiring site, I recommend that you check it out now.
sssshhhh
tread quietly and follow me
I have a treat that you may see
if you believe in secret things
little folk with tiny wings
in trees that reach toward the sky
sitting in the branches high
or from their houses peeping out
whenever good folks are about
now children, here’s the strangest thing
they weren’t here when I moved in
but very soon beneath this tree
where bland bare soil used to be
terraced walls began to grow
and pretty flowers made a show
chairs appeared beneath these roots
and clothes, and little fairy boots
I tried to help them all I could
with useful gifts and dryest wood
for fire to keep them warm at night
in their homes tucked out of sight
I know that these sweet souls so free
had sought me out to comfort me
and if your hearts are kind and true
they’ll surely do the same for you.

The Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge rules require you to post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or simply a short paragraph – it’s entirely up to you.
Then each day, nominate another blogger to carry on this challenge.
Accepting the challenge is entirely up to the person nominated, it is not a command. Today, I’m inviting Meredith of Meredith’s Musings to join the challenge.
