Esther Newton’s Ten Word Challenge gets even better

This week Esther Newton’s challenge is to write a ten word story which includes the following five words!:

maraca
flabbergasted
ventriloquist
pensive
Obama

I couldn’t resist it, and have written a dialogue, a story and a poem (of sorts).

Maraca

Dialogue:

“Why so pensive, Obama?”
“The ventroquist stole my maraca. Flabbergasted!”

Story:

Obama ducked, flabbergasted. The ventriloquist, pensive, retrieved the maraca.

Poem:

Pensive, Obama the ventriloquist plays maraca.
Flabbergasted, his subjects stare.
