        1. My mum called me that once, when i was going through a particularly irritating phase. I was pretty sure that whatever it meant, I didn’t want to be one, but it’s such a lovely word. I wonder if I could write a poem full of words like that? I’ll have to collect some up.

      1. It just means someone whose personality is flighty. Grin. And YES about the poem! You’re NOT going to believe this, but I had a dream about that last night! I think you should take word submissions from people and see what you get, then write it! 😀

                1. We’re talking about comprehensive school, right?
I think your surname is great – although I can see it could be a problem at school – you do realise that “Lynn Love” sounds like an author’s name, don’t you?
                  It has to happen x

                  1. Yes, secondary school. I married into the Love name, so all I’ve had is people telling me how amazing it is. I’ve never been an eleven year old boy starting a new school called Love – at the moment, I think he’d rather be a Smith. But it could always be worse – a friend of a friend named her (mixed race) son Toffee. Now, that’s a hindrance!
It is a good name for a writer, I guess – certainly memorable. Though, there is a lady who makes ‘exotic’ movies called Lynn Love – so the mix ups that ensue from that could prove interesting.

                    1. I believe I’ve met Lynn Love. If I have the right person, that’s a pseudonym, and I threw her out of my house once. It’s a long story. It was 20 years ago, and according to my partner, it’s a commonly used name for people in the sex trade, so it may have been a different LL.
Maybe you should be writing erotic novels…
                      Or not.

                    2. Haha! You threw me out of the house? How very dare you! Not knowing a damn thing about erotic fiction, I didn’t know Lynn Love was a common name in the sex trade, though I’ve seen it used in a computer game too. Not an ‘adult’ one as far as I know.
I get embarrassed just thinking about porn, so I doubt erotic fiction is the way forward for me. Maybe in another life

                    3. You must remember! You came to the door and my ex was so scared of you that he let you in. I was furious that you should think your reputation (and the scars you your bully boys had left on my stepson’s face) would intimidate me. I threw you out and marched up the road behind you, screaming like a fishwife, until you got in your car and drove off. You were scared! You thought I must have some power behind me to have the guts to treat you like that. My ex said there would be repercussions, but we never saw you or your vicious friends again! You thought I was stronger than you!
That really happened, but, oddly, you looked totally different then…

                    4. Hmm, yes it’s all coming back to me now … What a charmer my namesake sounds. Though, you do seem pretty scary, Jane – I’d be as scared as she was, I think 🙂

                    5. Yes, just lovely; her boyfriend and my horrible step-son were friends, and they were part of a gang of burglars. She had an affair with my horrible step-son, and when she was bored with him she got somebody to throw acid in his face. It was my first brush with grade A. lowlife.
I’m not scary until I get really angry, but when I do, I don’t give a thought to self-preservation. Being confronted by someone in that frame of mind must be scary.
BTW; I have a nice step-son as well. Chalk and cheese.

                    6. Hell, Jane. What horrendous people! Sorry you had to be exposed to anyone like that. Well done for standing your ground. We should all do it much more often – I too-often allow other people to do as they please. People shouldn’t be alllowed to walk all over anyone.

                    7. To true.
No doubt you’ve heard about Lord Ashcrofts book, in which he mentions DC smoking dope in college, having cocaine flying around at his dinner parties, (which I would have expected – most power junkies do coke) carrying out a lewd act with a dead pig, and having been a member of a society which exists to slag off the poor.
I admit that I was mildly surprised about the pig, but many of the rich are totally debauched, so I shouldn’t have been.
One of the comments I read said something like “So the population of Britain isn’t all he’s been shafting…”

                    8. Yes, I heard about ‘piggate’ and my mouth dropped open. Then it snapped shut again, because on further reflection, I wasn’t really surprised – initiation ceremonies the world over entail such ridiculous behaviour. The only thing I am shocked about , is that Ashcroft’s published the ‘revelations’. Can’t he be sued for that? The drug taking’s par for the course – all the public school kids I’ve ever met had a drug habit at one time. Not that it’s reserved to the well off – they just buy better quality drugs

                    9. I thought about that, but he can only be sued if his claims are false.
I’m wondering – if the claims are false, would sueing bring out more interesting revelations? If he doesn’t sue, will others come out of the woodwork with juicy tales of debauchery? It could be fun…
Anyway, I hope he feels humiliated – but then I suppose his public school buddies just see it as par for the course, and he wouldn’t care what us plebs think; he despises us anyway, and seems to be trying to kill us all off.
