the sky cried while you lay dying
and today your passing
cast a gloom over the rooftops
dimly insinuating itself into my living room
the idea that the bright sun would relinquish its light
without the star-flecked reflection of your presence
seems unreal, but I was briefly gripped by it
until a fanciful image entered the scene
I pictured you
in your true home
among the endless galaxies,
where the living cannot enter
dreaming up a new world, reaching out,
weaving it together with the beauty of your melody
and with that thought, the sun fought through the clouds
and brought a little colour into the view
spreading to fill the sky, the horizon
and entering my head.

Thank you.
That’s my second tribute to David Bowie today, and I wrote an inappropriate diatribe against his ex wife Angie, but I didn’t post that, thank goodness…

Ugh, exes – nasty, smelly, sticky things…

Lovely, Jane. I’ve never felt like blogging a tribute – until today. A horrible shock and very, very sad

It’s the first trubute I’ve posted – or rather, the second. I posted the first David Bowie tribute a couple of hours earlier.

Yes. Never thought I’d post a tribute to a singer either. But he was a most extraordinary talent.
