when you try to leave he’s filled with remorse
and you don’t realise that it’s par for the course.
his claims of regret bring you back to his arms
but once you are there he drops the charm.

Oh, Calen, it makes me sad to read your words, although you may be right. Whether you are or not, It’s clear that this has been your experience xxx

Yes, yes…it happens and how many times will we let it? Great wrote for the prompt, Jane!

Thank you.
We let it happen until we can either stop making bad choices or learn to live on our own – I went for the second option, and I love it! I should have realised years ago that I was a natural hermit. ๐

What! You make light of my tragic poem? I’ll have you know I finished the chocolate cake last night, and if iit wasn’t for the double chocolate cheesecake I would have nothing left to live for – apart from the Mississippi Mud Pie and my three months supply of hot chocolate powder… ๐

What a manipulative bastard! Though I guess all humans are in there way, aren’t they?
I had a boyfriend who started punch ups every time we went out, then wailed afterward because it was ‘the drunk what done it’. Nothing to do with him and his big ape fists of course. Some people think it’s okay to do what ever they like just as long as they apologise for it afterwards. Just don’t be a bastard in the first place, I say.
Sorry, Jane, gone a bit off point here! Yes, contrition is a good technique for keeping someone trapped, isn’t it? Let’s all steer clear of these types – no life needs them.
