Snow – what’s that?
I don’t think we’ve had any of that where I live for at least three years…

I used to love snow when I was a kid, but we had a lot of it when I was heavily pregnant with my first baby, and I was afraid of falling over. Noe it makes me kinda nervous. We’re not good with snow in the UK.

I guess when you live in canada you have to find a way to like it. I guess!

I knew a family who sold their house in the UK, then moved to Canada forever – except they were back after six months. Couldn’t stand the cold – for some reason they hadn’t expected it!

Floaty! Clouds are very inspiring. Did I ever post the very first poem I wrote in second grade? Got a ribbon for it! 😀
The clouds are like soft, soft pillows
that I lay my head upon.
They keep me warm and soft all night
until the night is gone.

When you were seven or eight – is that right? we don’t have grades over here – in fact it would almost be an exaggeration to say we have education!
That’s a lovely poem, and seems very advanced for a seven-year old. It deserved a ribbon. We never got ribbons, just little paper stars stuck in our workbooks. These days the most a teacher does is to scribble a small smiley face or write Good work! underneath well-executed assignments.

Yeah I was probably seven. Was in first grade at six. Didn’t go to kindergarten. It wasn’t required in Ohio.

You come from Ohio? When did you move to Utah?

1962, when I was in 6th grade. Dad got transferred to the Defense Depot here from Columbus.

I,ve never heard of the Defence Depot – something to do with the armed forces, presumably…
