#atozchallenge Knapsack

whenever grief or heartache came my way
I’d put it in my knapsack and touch it every day.
everywhere I went it was on my back
sapping my strength for the next attack.
and the heavier it got the more battles I lost
from clinging to the past whatever the cost.
but I had a great idea just the other day:
I went to the garbage and I threw it all away,
and now I’m feeling as light as can be
and wherever I go life smiles at me.

          1. Oh hell no! We’d been getting acquainted at Barnes & Noble for over a year and he was dying to come home with me. Said he’d do ANYTHING to have a home and someone who loved him! πŸ˜‰

            1. Yes! I was supposed to be going out, but I couldn’t resist seeing whether you restoring my comments had worked – but I think I’ll still have trouble on blogs where my posts are still sitting in the spam folder, and I’ve commented on loads of sites since the problem began – I don’t even know which ones they are. 😦
At least I can comment on your posts, and a few others now…
