That’s why I have a journal! 😉

Even though I’ve always written, I never had the patience for a journal.

That’s why you need to capture it the moment you get the thought. Or it fades away as smoke.

I get some of my best ideas when I’m walking – I’m often to be seen scribbling in a notebook as I meander along the street 🙂

Very true! Too many brain layers! You must be about my age!!! (<:

Ah! So it’s a build-up of brain layers – like the layers of a tree trunk.
I like the idea of that 🙂

Probably more like a computer who’s hard drive fills up and we need an auxiliary one to help us remember.

It could be in an external box, with a cable to plug into the ear, giving bag manufacturers a great new product idea – they could make special cases for the box to fit into – lots of colours, fabrics, designs, suitable for both formal and informal occasions.
There’s money to be made from this. I need to find investors 🙂

You spotted my deliberate error – I should have said WE need to find investors, as it was your idea. I was hoping you wouldn’t notice and I could run off with all the money 🙂

Now a days I save what I write…. lost a few poems… real good ones… and once you lose them you can’t write them back again….

I have note books all over the place, with bits and pieces of writing in them…

I had them on my cell…. it crashed… and I lost them all…since then I save online. And keep a back up copy

What a disaster!
I try to back up everything on the computer, but I’m not sure if I’m up to date with the photos Even though they’ve been on here for years…

That’s the problem isn’t it, when you create stuff. Storing it – then trying to remember where you stored it – then trying to remember what it was you stored – then trying to remember did you remember to store that, it was so good 🙂

Squirrels have that problem. They’re always losing their nuts, if you’ll pardon the expression 🙂

Lol ! Poor squirrels, all that hard work, only to lose it. Let us learn a lesson from the poor, misbegotten beastie and hide our nuts well 🙂

Many years ago my sister had a boyfriend who could have used that advice. Fortunately he moved to Australia 🙂

No way !!! we have a nut losing squirrel on the loose here ?!

I’m afraid so – you’ll know him if you see him and it won’t be a pretty sight.
He was a silly boy.He smoked a lot of cannabis, and liked to advertise his habit by wearing a silver earring in the shape of a cannabis leaf – back in the days when it was seriously frowned upon. He got charged with possession of the stuff. Because he heard the judge trying his case was a woman, he wore painfully tight jeans to court, thinking it would get him a lighter sentence! I think the unattractive bulge he sported may have been some kind of padding.

No wonder he keeps losing his nuts! I think he’s blended into the crowd here. There seems to be a whole cache of them (is that the right collective term?)

Cache, it’s a good guess, but I believe the collective term is rollick; ahem – a rollick of bollocks, if you’ll pardon the expression.

BTW, did you know you can ask WP to do a back up. They email it to you. Go to Dashboard, Tools, Export: choose ALL, click Download Export File. WP will email it to you. It contains EVERYTHING on your blog. I’ve done it once – must get into the habit of doing it every couple of weeks. I do back up on Word and then also onto a USB, but that’s just my published posts

Thanks for the advice -I’ll have to do that. I’ve got dropbox (a cloud), but I’m not sure if everything’s on it and it’s too complicated to check. Everything which ends up on my blog starts on my office programme, but I often edit it it on WP, so the finished version is only on WP.

I don’t know what happened, you’ll have a half finished comment probably. Anyway, what I was saying is that the WP backup includes ALL of your blog – comments, settings, images, posts. This is another thing I learnt from Hugh’s Views.

So, when did you develop the ability to spy into my brain? Because that’s the only way to explain how closely this reflects the clutter in my head – and on my bedroom floor, and by the side of the sofa …

HA! Thank you for the information. I’m building up a dossier. I didn’t know about the clutter on your bedroom floor, but I do now…

It’s essential. Today I came up with two ideas that got lost, because I couldn’t tear myself away from a waterfall. I was standing pretty much underneath it, getting soaked, so I couldn’t record my thoughts 🙂
It was worth it.
