Conflicting emotions cluster, stumbling through grey matter, as they fight to be top of the pile. Low thoughts, high thoughts, where, how and why thoughts. Grief and elation, hell and damnation, botched conversations, recovered relations, lost revelations, failed determination, dead ideas and un-shed tears, day-to day chores and clamouring causes all perspire while they battle for regard, colours blurring to mustard and rust, verity becoming encrusted in the annals of my mind. ©Jane Paterson Basil
Beautiful rhythm to this poem. I particularly like “day-to-day chores and clamouring causes all perspire as they battle for regard.”

Safar! I haven’t heard from you for ages. That’s probably my fault, as I’m not keeping up with my reading, and I recently had some issue re. notifications.
Thank you. That’s a great compliment coming from you. I know you’re not a great fan of poetry.

Well done! Not an easy prompt, but of course, you mastered it!

Thank you, it’s very generous of you to word your comment in such a complimentary way. I think that whether a particular prompt appears easy or hard depends on your state of mind at the time. There’s a lot of conflict in my life right now.
Hopefully, if the word Ecstatic comes up a few weeks from now, it will seem easy…

Thank you – AND I managed to keep it fairly brief. That’s an achievement for me 🙂

I wonder if that’s why it was so impactful… (Yeah, that’s a word they need to put in the dictionary!)

Impactful… if we say it often enough they will 🙂

Love it! I can just imagine getting lost in that maze 🙂

Hmm… I don’t like mazes. I got stuck in one once at a public garden – with two of my children 😉
