Stapelia, Stapelia, your beauty makes me sigh,
yet I fear precipitation might be drawing nigh.
Stapelia, Stapelia, how marvellous your bloom,
but a sickly stench of carrion invades my living room.
Stapelia, Stapelia, do you have no shame?
I sense I’m going to vomit, and your flower must take the blame.
Stapelia Variegata bears lovely blooms – but they stink like rotting meat. My plant has lots of buds. I can’t help admiring her… from a distance.

Well Jane what a rotten, beautiful plant you have there, maybe you try some spray on deodorant 🌿😉😂🌱

Haha. I have a feeling the plant would fight back. Those are pretty tough looking blooms. I can picture the plant sending out tendrils and strangling me while my back is turned 😀 😀

Anything is possible from a plant that smells that bad 🙂

Haha, if she smells that bad, she must be bad to the core, despite her outer beauty 🙄😁

Ow. I have heard of these dastardly plants. I’m not sure I would have one at our place.

The plant came from a cutting of one that someone had thrown away. I felt sorry for it… now I think I understand what it had done to offend it’s owner 😀 😀

Speaking as one who is merely subjected to the photo and not the reality: what a beautiful flower!
