Transition

Just like tormented teens
scratch secret passions in wet cement
before builders bring bricks and mortar
to smother initials framed in hearts
and pierced with cupid’s darts,
I write.

I present abortive tales of trial
like frosted slices
of erringly early halloween cake,
but the story moves forward,
the genre transforms leaving no regret
as soon as my poetic icing is set.

Houses rise, filling the landscape,
sandwiching old ache between hidden nature
and newly fulfilled need.

    1. Laura is doing amazingly well, Ivor. She’s proved – yet again – how brave and resilient she is. I’m so proud of her. What’s more, she’s finally going to get all the help she has needed for so long. I don’t suppose it would have ever been available to her if she hadn’t had a baby.

  2. Lovely to read your poetry with its sight, optimistic feel and to read good news about Laura. That girl of your really is tough! And I’m so glad to hear she’s getting some decent help. All the best to your all

    1. Thank you Lynn. Tough is the word for Laura. She’s suffered so much and survived it all. I’m proud to see her amazing show of courage even at a time when she’s terrified and broken up inside. I’m confident that she will get well. She come out of this whole.
